Our Plan

Our plan is to exchange EDI documents with you using our ZZ / KBXTECH ISA/GS ID through Orderful’s Cloud-based EDI platform. The KBXTECH ISA / GS ID is used for both our test and production environment. We leverage the ISA_15 indicator to indicate the destination of your message to KBXTECH.

To Summarize:

• Only an ISA_15 of ‘P’ will go to the “Live” stream in Orderful and into our Production environment
• An ISA_15 of ‘T’ will route messages ONLY to the “Test” stream in Orderful and can only be sent to our Test environment.

HOW WILL THE EDI ONBOARDING PROCESS WORK?

Orderful’s online EDI platform provides KBXT and its Trading Partners mutual benefit through better visibility to its EDI message traffic, error notifications, carrier self-service testing, as well as providing a platform with little if any downtime for system maintenance. Through our shared commitment to leveraging the tools available in Orderful, together we will streamline carrier onboarding, certificate maintenance, and provide carriers real-time feedback to validate EDI messages exchanged during testing as well as in production.

We are providing you with a path to our EDI guidelines for your review. In addition to the hyperlinked versions below, our guidelines, and the most up to date downloadable PDF files, are also available to our Trading Partners within the Orderful platform. Our preferred EDI communication method is AS2, however we can also exchange over SFTP if needed. If necessary, we can exchange EDI X12 via your Value-Added-Network (VAN). Our contracted VAN is Liaison / OpenText. Liaison will work with your VAN to complete a VAN integration using their VAN interconnect. FTP connectivity can still be used as a last resort if no other connectivity options are available.

WHAT INFORMATION DO I NEED TO PROVIDE KBX TO START THE PROCESS?

Please fill out the KBXT Truckload / LTL EDI Communications Questionnaire

PLEASE NOTEBefore filling out the form, be sure you have the following information ready:

  • Name of Carrier and applicable SCAC(s) being onboarded
  • Interchange Qualifier and ID(s) along with time-zone your Interchange / Group date and time are sent in (ET, CT, MT, PT, UTC, etc)
  • Contact information of the person we will communicate with to coordinate setup, testing, and go-live in Orderful
  • EDI Connection Method (AS2, sFTP, Value Added Network (VAN) If VAN, provide VAN name Test EDI ID and Production EDI ID)
  • Transactions you want to exchange with KBXT (Ex: 204 tender, 990 response, 214 status, 210 invoice, 997 Functional Acknowledgement, etc.)
  • 997 Functional Acknowledgement capabilities (Sending for 204, how quickly do you return a 997, if you desire KBX to send 997s to you for specific statuses.)
  • Ability and frequency to provide In-transit location updates (via EDI or API) to KBXT
  • Can you batch 214 status messages into one Interchange? (Multiple ST/SE within one ISA/GS)

After filling out the questionnaire:

  1. Review the guidelines and ensure you are mapping to send the correct X12 data elements to KBXT consistent with the appropriate guideline. Our same Orderful guidelines which are validated for testing will be validating exactly the same in production. Please note…To avoid any issues with Go-Live, any “mocked-up” EDI test files sent via the test connection or uploaded to Orderful to complete the testing scenarios must be sent exactly as it will be in production after Go-Live.
  2. Reach out to your EDI Onboarding Specialist through our shared mailbox B2BOnboarding@kbx.global at any time with questions or for any clarification needed on the specifics of the guidelines or test scenarios.
  3. Reach out to Orderful with any questions related to accessing the Orderful platform, or questions on communication methods, via the email support@orderful.com

HOW DO WE GET STARTED IN ORDERFUL?

The process starts with a KBXT Onboarding Specialist submitting a Trade Request with your organization from the Orderful platform. The trade request will generate an email to you with Orderful’s URL and their log in instructions. Orderful will work with you to set up a connectivity method for testing and production. Should you have any connectivity or Orderful platform questions, please reach out to support@orderful.com for assistance.

Once connectivity has been established, one of the KBXT Onboarding Specialists will reach out to you with further instructions to go through the testing process.

WHEN WILL MY GO LIVE OCCUR?

We expect to test all scenarios in the Orderful platform to validate the EDI transactions to our guidelines. Typically, testing can be completed within 4 weeks of a carrier accepting our trade request from Orderful. Additional testing can be done in the Orderful portal at any time if you wish to send additional messages to validate against the guidelines. Once testing has been completed successfully, we will schedule Go-Live for a weekday Monday through Thursday between 8:00 am and 2:00 pm Central Time.
